The Art Deco movement of the 1920/30s had a major impact, not just on art and architecture but on nearly every other aspect of the home.
This is a stunning example of a wall clock made by Smiths English Clock Company,in a size that would well have suited an important public office or modern home.
It was originally powered electrically but now converted with a modern quartz movement to guarantee that it keeps perfect time. The old electric movement would not meet modern
standards.
The photos show the gold Roman numerals and the distinctive hands against the walnut casing. Every aspect of the clock shows a high level of craftmanship.
The clock is in superb condition and especially its high polished wooden case.
