A fabulous Enamel clock dial with original verdigris hands made by the famous clockmaker Joyce of Whitchurch in Shropshire whose huge time pieces graced hundreds of station platforms across Britain in the era of Steam Trains. Our dial is identical to the one that plays a pivitol role in "Brief Encounter", the classic, romantic, tearjerking British film of the 1940's starring Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard and directed by David Lean.
A clock dial for film buffs and railway enthusiasts alike. Could be made to work again with a modern electric motor fitted to the original hands.
A rare find from the 1890's
