474 Gingham Clock by Smiths
A clock made by Smiths, possibly at the time of The Festival of Britain in 1951 or shortly after when British design wes being shown off. This clock had a Smiths electric movement but the design and the body of the clock comes from one of the leading pottery makers of the time T.G.Green and Co Ltd. They produced plates in various colours of Gingham which as a material for clothing was very fashionable at the time. We have fitted a quartz movement to the original hands. Supplied with an AA battery.
