446-Bakelite Wall Clock
Bakelite was commonly used in the 1950's and many clocks were produced in this material often to a styling of the 1930's Art Deco period. This is a typical example of one. Made originally with an electric mains motor, we have now converted it to quartz. The hands include a red seconds hand, which always attracts attention when it is on the wall. This model was made in England probably by one of the popular electric clock manufacturers, e.g. Ferranti, Magneta, Smiths and Gents. No name appears on the dial. Also available in cream Bakelite.
