A rare electric mantel clock in a cream bakerlite case enclosing a three masted sailing ship that rock gently up and down while the clock tells the time.
The background can be illuminated at night to simulate sunset. It then looks wonderful full of retro fantasy and has endless posiibilies for use in advertising or period dramas.
First designed and patented in 1941 and made into the early 1950's in a factory on the Isle of Man. The output was limited and you scarcely see them today. See video at bottom of page showing ship in motion on the choppy sea. |
